Northeast Maritime Institute College of Maritime Science is actively planning for a fall reopening of our campus with students returning to classrooms and housing. Our main priority is the health and well being of our community, and will remain so moving forward.

Plans may change depending on COVID-19 data, and in accordance with guidance from public health and government authorities.

Massachusetts published new guidelines effective August 1st for any individuals traveling into the state. These guidelines, however, do not apply to Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and New York.

All visitors entering Massachusetts, except for the seven states listed above, are required to:

  • Complete THIS FORM prior to arrival; AND
  • Quarantine for 14 days OR produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival.
To ensure that everyone is in compliance and guaranteeing a level of security, we ask that all students arriving and returning to campus that are in on-campus housing arrive by September 7th or 8th. The following week, all students with self-quarantine for their first full week of classes. Moreover, until all COVID-19 results are received and confirmed, it is our plan to start the semester with virtual classes.

Regarding travel off campus, we ask that students try to limit any unnecessary travel. If a student needs to travel outside of the state, they must self-quarantine when returning, unless it is one of the seven states listed above.

If a student decides to travel out of state to one of the seven states, they must follow the Massachusetts health guidelines and protocols for reopening which can be found HERE

Emergency situations can be presented to the Registrar for approval, but may require quarantining off campus if they are in student housing and working remotely for that time period.
